Minister Alexandre de Moraes blocked the previous request and ordered the lawyers to present the professional qualifications of Carlos Eduardo Antunes Torres
A defense of former president Jair Bolsonaro reinforced this Monday (13) the request that Carlos Eduardo Antunes TorresMichelle Bolsonaro’s foster brother, have unrestricted access to the reserve captain’s home during his house arrest.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered the defense to present Torres’ professional qualifications so that he could have free access to Bolsonaro.
The defense, however, argues that Carlos Torres is not from the health sector, and that the request for him to accompany Bolsonaro, as you have done on other occasionss, including when, at the time, the presidential candidate was stabbed, in 2018, has nothing to do with monitoring nurses.
The document requires that he be able to visit the house at times when the former first lady needs to be away, no prior notice required.
“Mr. Carlos Eduardo was present in order to help his sister’s family both in caring for the Petitioner, and especially assisting in the care and routine of his nieces, so that the role of assisting the Petitioner does not fall on them”, says the request.
Previous order
Moraes noted in the defense’s first request that Eduardo Torres’ qualifications as a doctor or nurse were not included in the request.
The lawyers classified Eduardo as “a trusted person in the family and who has served as the Petitioner’s companion at other times.” The minister then requested explanations about Eduardo’s presence at Bolsonaro’s house.
In the same decision, Moraes authorized orthopedic doctor Alexandre Firmino Paniago to carry out permanent medical visits, without the need for prior notice.
House arrest
Under authorization from Moraes Bolsonaro will stay 90 days under house arrestin the family home located in Condomínio Solar de Brasília, in the Federal District, where he has been since March 27th.
