“Vienna is different, and it starts in Linz.” Trixi Schuba summarizes two common slogans from two of Austria’s largest cities. The slogans are younger, but from Schuba’s point of view they could easily have been invented in 1972. The Viennese returned from the Winter Olympics in Sapporo as an Olympic figure skating champion, but she was not welcomed in Vienna, but in Linz. Looking back on this unique volte of local sports history is not only worth it on April 15th, which is Schuba’s 75th birthday.
