Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the season – 04/16/2026 – Sport

Portuguese Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, with an “incalculable contribution” after nine years at the club, the Premier League team announced this Thursday (16).

The 31-year-old was signed by City in 2017 from Monaco and played 450 games for Pep Guardiola’s team, winning 19 major trophies with his team, including six Premier League titles and one Champions League.

“In addition to this extraordinary CV, his 76 goals and 77 assists reflect his magnificent overall contribution to the team,” highlighted the club in its statement.

Bernardo Silva “will be deservedly remembered as one of the best and most beloved players in Manchester City’s history”, added the club.

The player also confirmed his departure through his social networks: “In a few months it will be time to say goodbye to the city where we not only won so much as a football club, but also where I started my marriage and my family. From the bottom of my heart, Inês and Carlota, thank you!”, he wrote on Instagram.

Before leaving, the Portuguese can still add to his CV, as City face Arsenal this coming Sunday in a decisive duel for the Premier League.

“Let’s enjoy these last few weeks together and fight for what this season still has in store for us”, wrote the player, for whom the club is already preparing a “tribute and a farewell worthy of a wonderful Manchester City servant at the end of the season”.

Following the departure last summer of Belgian Kevin de Bruyne, Silva’s goodbye represents the end of Manchester City’s most brilliant phase in its entire history.
