Eight children were killed Sunday morning in a shooting in the city of Shreveport in the US state of Louisiana. It was announced by local authorities, according to which the police shot the suspect during the chase. TASR informs about it according to AP and DPA agencies and KSLA television.
The shooting happened around 6:00 a.m. local time. According to police, it started as domestic violence and occurred at a total of three crime scenes. The shots hit ten people. The eight victims were between one and 14 years old, according to preliminary findings. Two women were injured.
The suspect, allegedly the father of some of the slain children, fled the scene and drove a stolen car to the city of Bossier, where police tracked him down. After the shootout, they confirmed his death. Shreveport is the third largest city in Louisiana, located in the northwest of this US state near the border with Texas.
