Endrick’s performance in Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain, on Sunday (19), broke a record on CazéTV and consolidated a trend since the Brazilian’s arrival at the French team.
The broadcast of the match, played at Parc des Princes, had 4.6 million views. With the video of highlights, the total reached 6.4 million — the highest number in Ligue 1 this season on the broadcaster.
The performance surpasses recent CazéTV marks. As a comparison, the showing of Flamengo x Bayern Munich in the 2025 Club World Cup had reached 5.6 million views.
Since being announced by Lyon in January, Endrick has changed the audience level for the French club’s games in Brazil. Previously, the team’s matches registered an average of 280 thousand views on CazéTV, compared to 870 thousand for PSG. With the striker’s debut on January 18, the audience jumped to 2.6 million and remained high in the following games, often above 3 million.
In 12 matches with the Brazilian on the field, Lyon accumulated 28 million views, with an average of 2.3 million per game. Overtaking, in the period, the numbers of PSG, the leader of the championship and considered the most popular team in France.
The Endrick effect also increased general interest in the league. In the same period, PSG broadcasts grew from 870 thousand to an average of 1.2 million on the platform, while the games shown on the official Ligue 1 YouTube channel also registered an increase in audience.
“The definition of the champion is getting closer, and this alone will make the audience in France one of the biggest of the season. In Brazil, several advertisers made contact hoping for a historic record for the tournament in the country”, says Thiago Freitas, director of operations at Roc Nation Sports in Brazil, a North American entertainment company, led by singer Jay-Z, who manages the careers of hundreds of athletes, including Endrick himself.
