Aldo Rebelo criticizes COP30: ‘They didn’t even send the White House doorman’

Aldo Rebelo, pre-candidate for President, used the Norte Show platform, in Sinop (MT), this Tuesday (21) to criticize COP30, held in Belém.

“This was sold in Brazil as the most important thing in life,” said the former minister, in reference to the UN climate conference.

Rebelo got straight to the point: “At that climate conference in Pará, the US and the US president didn’t even send the White House doorman. The second most important country, which is China, sent the third echelon. Neither did Russia. And neither did our people from Mercosur.”

The pre-candidate made a point of differentiating his position from climate denialism. “This does not mean that the environment is not important, but it cannot be used as an instrument of maneuver.”

The speech went down well with the audience at the largest agricultural fair in the north of Mato Grosso — a sector that has historically criticized the use of environmental guidelines as a barrier to trade and rural production.
