The United States is significantly strengthening its military presence in the Middle East. The aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush joined the two vessels already present on Thursday (April 23).
The American aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush is arriving in the Middle East, the US military announced on Thursday. The total number of ships in the region thus increased to three, TASR informs, according to an AFP report.

Deploying the ship despite the ceasefire
The aircraft carrier sailed on April 23 in the “Indian Ocean area of responsibility of the US military’s Central Command” (CENTCOM), the military said in a post on Platform X. It also released a photo of the ship with military aircraft on board.
A second aircraft carrier (USS Gerald R. Ford) was in the Red Sea on Thursday and a third (USS Abraham Lincoln) is also present in the region, according to CENTCOM posts on social media.
The deployment of the third aircraft carrier in the Middle East occurred despite a cease-fire that halted US-Israeli attacks on Iran. Each of the aircraft carriers sails accompanied by a large group of support warships, writes AFP.
