Google and the US Department of Defense have signed a contract that allows the military to use Google’s AI models for highly classified operations. Among the major AI companies, Elon Musk’s xAI and ChatGPT parent OpenAI have already reached a corresponding agreement with the Pentagon. Competitor Anthropic pulled out of talks about a similar deal in February due to serious security concerns – and was then officially classified as a security risk by the Ministry of Defense.
