Omoda & Jaecoo will have a factory in Brazil and production is scheduled to take place next year. The information and date were confirmed by Shawn Xu, global CEO of Omoda & Jaecoo.
“Once our factory is available, we can definitely see high-volume products. So, I think it includes the Omoda 5 and it includes the Jaecoo 5,” said the executive.
Although Shawn did not specify the versions to be produced, it is likely that all of them will be nationalized.
Today, the Omoda 5 is the second main car of the brand in Brazil. Throughout this year, it has already sold more than 6 thousand units — in the sum of the most electric hybrid.
What are the models like?
The Omoda 5 is sold in two technologies in Brazil. It has the SHS-H system and generates 224 hp of power and 30.1 kgfm of torque.
O urban consumption it is in the range of 15.1 km/l and the price starts at R$ 164,990 for the Luxury configuration. The E5’s electrical system generates 204 hp and just over 34.6 kgfm of torque. The autonomy is 345 km using the Inmetro cycle.
It should arrive in Brazil in the second half of the year (initially imported) and with a price below R$ 156 thousand.
Under the hood, the SUV must work with a 1.5 TGDI gasoline engine — the same set as the . There are 224 hp of power and 30 kgfm of torque, combined.
