Silves City Hall is promoting, between the 22nd and 24th of May, the 27th edition of the Caldeirada e do Mar Festival, and registrations are now open for restaurants interested in participating. Registration is open until May 4th.
The initiative is aimed at food establishments located in Armação de Pêra, which must ensure, during the days of the event, the presence on their menus of a stew dish, preferably, or other regional specialties.
Participating restaurants must prioritize the use of fish and shellfish from Armação de Pêra, with a special focus on the resources of the Recife do Algarve Marine Natural Park – Pedra do Valado.
The gastronomic proposal must also include, at least, one Silves Wine and desserts made with local products, namely with Silves orange, guaranteeing “a greater richness of the smells and flavors of the proposed delicacies”.
Weekend dedicated to traditional gastronomy
The festival once again highlights the stew as an emblematic dish of local gastronomy, inviting residents and visitors to rediscover the traditional flavors of the coastal village.
Between the 22nd and 24th of May, the public will be able to enjoy a gastronomic offer centered on fresh products from the sea of Armação de Pêra, in an environment that values the cultural and culinary identity of the territory.
The initiative aims to establish itself as a tourist attraction, simultaneously promoting local gastronomy and the region’s natural heritage.
The event therefore appears as “the ideal invitation for food lovers and visitors who wish to enjoy the great traditional culinary diversity of this coastal village located by the sea”, also contributing to the promotion of the Recife do Algarve Marine Natural Park – Pedra do Valado.
Those interested in participating must formalize their registration by filling out and signing the registration form and participation rules, available through the link.
The documentation must be sent to the electronic address or delivered in person to the Tourism sector of Silves City Hall.
