Banco Santander increased its profit by 60% in the first quarter of the year, earning 5,422 million euros. The figure, which shatters its own results record for a quarter, is impacted by the sale of 49% of its bank in Poland to Ertse Bank for 7,000 million euros, with a capital gain of 1,900 million. Without considering this transaction, the ordinary profit is 3,560 million, 12%.
