“This game was amazing”
After the game, Luis Enrique highlighted the spectacle and stated that it was the best performance he had ever seen in his career as a coach.
“It was the best game I’ve experienced as a coach,” said Luis Enrique.
“We are very happy and I think we deserved to win, but we also deserved a draw, and we even deserved to lose, because this game was amazing. I’ve never seen a game with this pace. It is necessary to congratulate the opponents, the players. When you have a 5-2 lead like that, your opponents take a lot of risks – they are a high-level team. It was difficult, and the return game will be too”, continued the coach.
Reaction at home
On the other side, Kompany, coach of Bayern Munich, was confident for the second leg.
“When you concede five goals in the Champions League you’re basically out, but we scored four goals in Paris,” said Kompany.
“We can score goals, we have already shown that and we will do the same. Now we know: the return game is at home and we have to win. We usually win there and, with the support of our fans, the confidence is certainly there”, he concluded.
