Perhaps everyone desires a perfect Hollywood smile. Celebrities, as well as ordinary people, opt for modern dentures, especially those made of so-called zirconia. At first glance, this is an investment in health and self-confidence, but behind the scenes of this trend, less pleasant stories are also beginning to emerge. Not everyone gets what they pay for.
Today, zirconia teeth are considered a kind of gold standard in aesthetic dentistry. The material is extremely strong, resistant to damage and at the same time looks more natural than older metal-ceramic replacements. It does not contain a metal core, so there are no dark edges near the gums and light penetrates through them just like a real tooth.
However, some clients find after time that their “luxury smile” may not be as luxurious as they thought. There are suspicions that not all of the teeth are actually zirconium, although they have been billed as a premium material. Entrepreneur and singer René Strausz, husband of influencer Zuzana Strausz Plačková, now fits in with such experience.
René shared the inconvenience with his followers on the social network. “Do you remember when I told you that I was groped? So something happened to me that a few years ago they did my teeth, they did zirconias,” he explained.
He learned shocking information by complete accident. “Well, in the meantime, I had to have one tooth pulled. And as some years passed, the older you get and you don’t have a tooth, your teeth also grow, or something just changes and you get gaps between your teeth, so I went to get it done. I’m going to get it done. Well, they had to remove the entire bridge, since I have it done that way. And what did we find out? That I didn’t have zirconia back teeth, but I had metal ceramics. And of course I should have had zircons. So I definitely don’t have it on the other side, so I’m going to have the whole top done by my dentist,” he said angrily.
René showed his followers what metal-ceramic teeth look like. “See that metal? That’s what I had there.” he explained. So the artificial teeth went down. He showed his fans what he looks like with his teeth sharpened. Although he is waiting for new crowns to be made, he does not have to worry about walking “toothless”. He received a temporary replacement from the dentist.
“I still have a gaping mouth, but I have temporary teeth, and this Mrs. Molnárová has fitted me with new teeth next week. She works miracles, it didn’t hurt me at all. For the kind of intervention she was doing to me, she just kills it, they already have such technology that people really don’t have to be afraid“, added the businessman.
The price of one zirconia tooth can range from approximately 300 to 800 euros, depending on the clinic. the country or the difficulty of the procedure. If someone can get their entire set of teeth fixed, the amount can climb to several thousand, that’s fine more than 10 thousand euros.
