The legal group Prerogativas released a statement this Thursday (30) in which it said it was “the victim of a sordid and petty manipulation” in the process in which its nomination for the Federal Supreme Court was defeated by the .
This campaign “brought low and ignominious political motivations to the process of ratifying his name to form the Supreme Court”, says the group, aligned with the Lula government.
“The senators could not disguise that they were straying from their constitutional responsibility, when they attributed Messias’ disapproval to dissatisfaction with the conduct of the current ministers, especially in relation to the fair punishments against January 8th coup plotters”, says the note.
For Prerogativas, Messias also suffered the effects of an orchestration by the opposition to impose a political defeat on the government, “overlooking the nature of the evaluation specific to the rite of the Constitution for sealing nominations to the STF”.
“By denying approval to the name of Messias to be incorporated into the STF, it was the Senate that shamefully degraded itself.
