Marina Silva and Haddad criticize Dosimetria PL – 05/01/2026 – Politics

The former ministers () and (Treasury) criticized the president () this Friday (1st) of the Dosimetry PL and stated that those involved in attacks on democracy should not have their sentences reduced.

“Yesterday, in , a shame. Those who attacked our democracy, who fear our sovereignty, wanting to reduce the sentence with a false, hypocritical speech, that it is because of that poor guy who didn’t know what he was doing”, said Marina.

“The penalty for them shouldn’t be less, it should be greater”, said the former minister at a VAT (Life Beyond Work) event held in Roosevelt Square, in . She left the ministry this year to contest the elections.

Haddad, who is expected to run for the Government of São Paulo, said the approval of the Dosimetry PL is the result of an agreement for impunity in the country.

The rapporteur of the proposal, approved this Thursday (30) by the National Congress, was federal deputy Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP), who was at the event this morning. Former president of the organization, he was called to join the panel of authorities along with former ministers Haddad and Marina Silva, but preferred not to take the stage.

“And I am of the opinion that this defeat, this so-called defeat in Congress, was a defeat in the fight against corruption. I share with the analysts that I have read in the newspapers that behind this defeat there was an intention of a great agreement around the impunity of those responsible for some recent scandals in Brazil”, stated Haddad.

Tebet, who is expected to run for the Senate in São Paulo, evoked Darcy Ribeiro when he said that “I would never want to be on the side of someone who defeated me.”

The reduces the sentences of those convicted of a coup d’état, including the former president (PL).

In the Chamber, , while 144 congresswomen voted for it to be maintained. There were five abstentions. In , the overthrow received 49 votes in favor and 24 against, with no abstentions.

The project, approved in December last year, provides that penalties for coup d’état and violent abolition of the democratic State are not cumulative in the same context. In the case of equal penalties, one of them is applied increased by one-sixth and half. Crimes of attempted coup or abolition committed in crowds are reduced by one third to two thirds, except for financiers or leaders.

One of the main articulators of the project and rapporteur of the proposal at , (Solidariedade-SP) did not join former ministers of the Lula government on stage during the May 1st event promoted by Força Sindical, a movement of which he was once president.

The deputy was announced to be part of the authorities’ table and, present at the event, chose not to go up. In the Força auditorium, a protester carried a poster with the words: “Paulinho, what a mess, the Dosimetria PL will release a rapist and a thief.”

Also present at the act against the 6×1 scale in São Paulo, federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP), author of one of the PECs (Proposed Amendments to the Constitution) against the 6×1 scale, classified the approval of the overturn of President Lula’s veto on dosimetry as “a kind of disguised amnesty”.

In a statement, the parliamentarian said it was a protection for a “corrupt” political class and that there is also a clear interest in attacking the STF to enable the impeachment of court ministers.

“It is a decision that, inevitably, weakens Congress before the people and Brazilian democracy before the world, as it is an attempt to dismantle the institutions from within, preparing the ground for an authoritarian regime in the country”, added the PSOL congresswoman.

The overturning of the presidential veto on the Dosimetry PL was the government’s second consecutive defeat in less than 24 hours. Last Wednesday (29), the attorney general of the Union Jorge Messias, to occupy a seat in the STF (Supreme Federal Court).

In a second agenda on freedom, Marina mentioned the veto of Messias’ nomination.

“When they say they defeated President Lula, not approving our fellow Messiah, I don’t agree. It wasn’t President Lula who lost. The defeat was for Brazil. And no one can defeat more than 200 million people with impunity.”
