“Despite the fact that this is an illegal event, the government has taken measures to ensure the safety of the event and limit any unrest, especially for the sake of the residents in the area,” the relevant prefecture said in a statement.

The top regional official Philippe Le Moing Surzur said that the site is “extremely dangerous due to the unexploded ordnance it may contain”.
