In an interview with Poder360, Bernardo Moreira said that dismissal strengthens pre-campaign and that he was aware that he could be removed from his position
the advisor to the deputy (Avante-MG) for the president of the Chamber, (Republicanos-PB), said that he will compete for a seat in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District in 2026. The position after interrupting an interview with the leader of the Opposition, (PL-PB), at GloboNews.
In an interview with Poder360the pre-candidate classified Motta’s decision as an act “dictatorial”. The president claimed that the former advisor is a repeat offender. Affiliated to the PSB, Moreira stated that the dismissal and the criticism he has received from the opposition strengthen his campaign.
“For me it is an honor to be fired by Hugo Motta. He has a very clear side: it is the side of right-wing deputies, the extreme right and businesspeople. That is why he persecutes the left and those who face him so much”said Bernardo.
The now former advisor denied that the episode was a strategic error. According to him, there was “full awareness” the risks of retaliation and possible dismissal.
“I was fully aware that I would be persecuted after this and that an exoneration could come from this act. But I believe that at the moment we live in the country, we cannot be afraid to confront or to stand up and show our opinions”the former advisor told Poder360.
Bernardo questioned the Chamber’s speed in his dismissal and criticized the lack of equality in the conduct of the House. He cited the case of the deputy (Psol-RJ), who faced the use of force by the Legislative Police to compare with Motta’s lack of action in episodes involving Bolsonaro supporters.
The former advisor said he was still receiving “thousands of threats” via social media since the video went viral, but stated that he does not intend to back down from his pre-candidacy.
