The death toll has risen to ten more than two weeks after a shooting at a school in the southeastern Turkish city of Kahramanmaras. An eleven-year-old girl died of her injuries in the hospital on Sunday, TASR writes, according to a report from the DPA agency.

On Wednesday, April 15, a 14-year-old eighth-grader killed eight classmates and a teacher at his school in the town of Kahramanmaras. The shooter also lost his life, but it is still not known whether he was killed by the police or committed suicide. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
The day before, at least 16 people were injured in a shooting at a high school in the nearby town of Sanliurfa. The attacker was a former student who then committed suicide.
In response, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his government will introduce sweeping measures, including restrictions on gun ownership. According to him, school safety will be one of the main priorities of the government.
