According to the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), the two soldiers were reported missing on Saturday night in a training area. located in Cap Draanear the city of Tan-Tan, in southern Morocco.
The alert was activated immediately after contact with them was lost. More than 40 countries participate in these maneuvers
The “African Lion 2026” exercises began on April 20 and will last until May 8 in different parts of Morocco, including Agadir, Tan-Tan, Benguerir, Taroudant, Tifnit and Dakhla.
This year, the maneuvers bring together more than 40 countries and are considered the largest multinational military training that the United States organizes on the African continent.
