Lucas Moura is out for the remainder of the São Paulo season; understand

What Tricolor fans feared most actually happened: attacking midfielder Lucas Moura is out for the rest of São Paulo’s season.

After leaving the Cícero de Souza Marques lawn in Bragança Paulista (SP) crying, the veteran underwent imaging tests.

The analysis showed that the player had a complete rupture of the Achilles tendon in his right leg.

Lucas Moura will undergo surgery this Monday morning (04), at Einstein Hospital Israelita, in São Paulo (SP).

As the recovery period for this type of injury is around a year, the attacking midfielder will no longer take the field in 2026.

São Paulo is currently fourth in the Brasileirão and, in the South American Championship, leads Group C.

In the Copa do Brasil, they won the first game of the fifth phase against Juventude 1-0.
