Rat poison in Hipp jars: Suspect sentenced to pre-trial detention

The suspect in the case involving Hipp jars of baby food tampered with rat poison was placed in pre-trial detention on Tuesday morning. Lukas Belza, spokesman for the Eisenstadt regional court, announced this to STANDARD. The reasons given for detention include the risk of collusion, the risk of committing a crime and the risk of absconding. “The pre-trial detention was imposed for two weeks,” said Belza. The requirements for this must then be checked again. According to Belza, there was “no complaint from the accused” about the decision.
