Worthy of applause: player gives up scoring a goal due to opponent injuries

A gesture of fair play earned applause from most of the people who were in the gym at Sesc Petrolina, in Brazil, which was hosting the match between Garapa and Casa Nova. Wandinho gave up trying to score a goal due to opponent injuries.

Wandinho had the ball at his feet, a teammate at his side and only the rival goalkeeper in front. But the Garapa player, who was leading 1-0, realized that two opponents were on the ground after a dangerous collision between them.

Although it was not a fault, the athlete gives up the play so the game is stopped and the opponents are attended to, which led to a lot of applause from the fans watching the futsal match.

“The relationship between the two athletes was very strong, it was a work accident that could have caused something very serious. Fortunately, nothing major happened afterwards”, said Wandinho, speaking to TV Grande Rio.

The game ended 4-2 for Garapa and Wandinho scored one of the goals.
