A woman was arrested in Washington state after driving onto a sidewalk to chase a child riding a minibike.
According to authorities, Wendy A. Clemente, 56, tried to run over the minor, in a situation captured in images that quickly began to circulate on social media.
The incident occurred in a residential area, where the driver invaded the sidewalk with the vehicle, putting the child’s safety at risk.
The woman has since been arrested and faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, drunk driving and trespassing.
The case is now under investigation, while authorities seek to determine all the details of what happened.
