If some national barriers to free trade between states were removed and legal regimes were unified, Europe would be significantly richer. This follows from a long-known report by Mario Draghi, the former president of the European Central Bank. So why don’t the EU states do what will guarantee their prosperity?
The head of the EC representation in Slovakia, Peter Stano, explains what will happen after last week’s vote of the European Parliament, which called on the commission to start the procedure of stopping European funds in Slovakia.
In the video interview you will learn:
– from the 1st minute – whether or not the vote of the European Parliament has consequences;
– after 3:00 a.m. – who controls the haciendas, and what can be investigated for so long on such a clear matter;
– after 5:00 – that if someone has embezzled European funds, he will have to return them and face punishment;
– around 6:30 – what will happen if systematic embezzlement of funds by groups close to the government is proven;
– after 7:30 – that stopping European funds to Slovakia is possible, but it will not happen tomorrow;
– from 9:30 a.m. – whether Robert Fico can’t care if the funds stop late;
– after 11 a.m. – that the goodwill of the EU is not abused by miscreants;
– from 13:00 – that the EC already knows the state of our rule of law;
– after 3:00 p.m. – whether the rules of the rule of law were also violated in 2020-23, or only after the arrival of Fico;
– after 16:00 – whether payments from the Recovery Plan have proven to be a pressure on the government;
– from 17:00 – as the Recovery Plan is not a universal sanctioning tool;
– after 18:00 – that after the end of the Recovery Plan, similar stoppage rules will also apply to Eurofunds;
– from 19:00 – how the EC has already eliminated the problems through internal pressure on the government;
– after 20:00 – whether the hospitals have a problem from the Recovery Plan;
– from 10:00 p.m. – whether the EC serves to curb the injustices of the state;
– after 23:45 – that Slovakia has up to 59 ongoing infringements and whether it is a lot or a few;
– from 26:40 – whether Slovakia is also threatened with prosecution for violating European law under the STVR;
– after 28:00 – whether STVR will help journalists if EC waits and does not act;
– from 10:00 p.m. – what does the European Commission do instead of the European army;
– after 35:00 – what happens if one country joins the enemy’s side;
– from 36:00 – whether the right of veto is not a systematic problem that is holding Europe back;
– around 39:00 – that since the Draghi report we all know how to increase GDP and why no one is doing it;
– from 40:00 – that we would all be richer if the Member States took action.
