There are spaces that become references not only because of their privileged location, but because of the history they carry and the way they know how to welcome. In Manta Rota, the Restaurant “O Finally” is one of these cases: a well-known name in Algarve restaurants, where family continuity and a cuisine with identity intersect with a light atmosphere close to the beach spirit.
Founded in 1978, at a time when the area was still taking its first steps as a tourist destination, “Finalmente” was born as a beach bar, created by José Manuel Neto Cristo, known as “Cristo”, and a partner. Shortly afterwards, this partner would end up leaving the project, giving way to Noêmia, who joined the business and helped transform it into a truly family home — a role she maintains to this day, being a central figure in the kitchen and in the formation of teams over generations.
The name appears spontaneously, after a long process until opening — a “finally” that ended up lasting and lasting decades.

What started as a simple beach support grew naturally, following the evolution of Manta Rota itself. Over the years, the space has established itself as a stopping point for residents and visitors, always maintaining an uncomplicated way of being close to those who seek it. The renovation of the beachfront in 2007 brought a new structure, but did not change what defines the house.
Today, the restaurant remains in family hands, with Cristiana and her brother Simão taking over management and setting their own rhythm to the space. The connection is made both through memory and daily presence, in a direct relationship with customers who, over time, have become regulars.

This continuity is reflected in an environment where different generations meet at the table, in a simple style, without excessive formalism, very much in line with the beach context in which the restaurant is located.
With a privileged location next to Manta Rota beach, the space has several air-conditioned internal rooms, ensuring comfort throughout the year. In the summer months, the rooftop takes on a central role, becoming increasingly popular for meals at the end of the day, in a light and relaxed atmosphere.
In the kitchen, the proposal remains faithful to a clear idea: well-executed dishes, with a focus on flavor and consistency. During high season, the barbecue area gains prominence, with fresh sea bream and sea bass, along with specialties that are part of the restaurant’s identity.

The menu also includes a selection of snacks designed for sharing, accompanying a more informal and prolonged way of spending time at the table. At the same time, there is growing attention to the diversity of options, with the restaurant guaranteeing well-designed vegan and vegetarian alternatives, designed to offer a complete experience also for those who follow this type of diet.
In a sector marked by constant challenges, “Finalmente” has been able to adapt without losing its essence, focusing on quality, consistency and proximity. The desire to energize the space throughout the year reflects a current approach, aligned with the profile of those looking for it today.
With a mostly Portuguese clientele, but also with foreign visitors who are discovering the area, the restaurant remains a meeting point between tradition and a lighter, more contemporary way of being.
More than a curious name, “O Finally” is today synonymous with continuity and a genuine way of experiencing restoration — by the sea, without rushing and with space to return.
