VIDEO Zlatica Puškárová’s son is a star in Sweden: We continue to stay grounded! A bold challenge for parents

In September 2025, the life of Zlatica Švajdová Puškárová changed fundamentally. Her son Leo (16) headed to the north of Europewhere he won a place in a prestigious hockey club. For those closest to him, it meant an immediate jump into a new carousel and quickly getting used to the regular routine commuting between Slovakia and Scandinavia.

Considering Leo’s young age, the family left nothing to chance and created a stable background for him in the north of Europe. A young hockey player will never be without the support of those closest to him, in Sweden, not only the parents regularly take turns with him, but also the grandparents who are there with the boy when Patrik and Zlatica are hosting.

All the sacrifice and hard traveling are paying off. Puskárova recently on social networks praised her son’s great success at the Swedish Hockey Championship 2026. Leo dominated the table and became the most productive player of the entire championship. For parents, this is the best reward for the support they give Leo in his career. The success of the young hockey player caused a wave of positive reactions, for which the presenter is very grateful. “THANK YOU for the many beautiful messages, comments, e-mails, phone calls. We really appreciate YOUR good wishes,” she wrote on Instagram on Saturday, April 11, to supporters who are keeping their fingers crossed for the family.

Markizáčka emphasizes that the first-born son’s sports career is approached at home with great respect and humility. “We continue to stay grounded, in the mode of discipline and determination. We are still only at the beginning, even if we have already come a long way. Always with love and support. In sports, you lose a million times, while the joy of winning is rarer.” she described a sober view of the world of professional sports.

She also used the opportunity to motivate other parents and their teenage children to lead an active life. “At the same time, I want to encourage young people to dream, play sports, have goals, because it is through sports that they can learn about the world, study at prestigious universities, gain foreign experience, rare friendships, and more easily go through the difficult period of adolescence.” concluded a sincere confession in which she highlighted sport as a school of life.
