Today, Hungary is witnessing a change. Péter Magyar will be appointed Prime Minister today

Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok reminds the Tisza party of its historic mandate and responsibility for the country. He calls on her to strengthen the resilience of the nation and its communities.

The Tisza party, which won an unprecedented mandate, now has a historic responsibility for Hungary and its people, President Tamás Sulyok said at the constituent session of the parliament on Saturday. TASR informs about it according to the report of the MTI agency.

Sulyok said that this responsibility and service carries with it obligations, the importance of which lies “especially in the development and strengthening of the communities of the country and the nation, as well as in ensuring their ability to withstand challenges.”

Legal certainty as a priority

The Hungarian president emphasized that respect for the law cannot be questioned and that all political activity can be called democratic only as long as it is within the limits of the legal and constitutional order.

“The legal order that guarantees order and predictability must be authoritative for everyone who exercises power. Legal certainty is a value that we must protect under all circumstances,” said the head of state, apparently also in connection with the fact that future Prime Minister Péter Magyar called on Sulyok and other public officials to resign, otherwise they will be dismissed, the 24.hu server recalled.

Call for cooperation

Suylok therefore called for constructive cooperation on issues that could “help the progress of the nation and strengthen peace and tranquility in public life.”

In conclusion, he announced that he had entrusted Magyar with forming a government and proposed that the National Assembly elect him as prime minister.
