Bleiburg – A forest fire led to a major fire brigade operation in Bleiburg (Völkermarkt district) in Carinthia on Saturday afternoon. 180 firefighters fought the fire, which had spread over an area of one hectare. The fire was brought under control after just one and a half hours and embers were specifically extinguished, the police reported. However, “Fire out” will probably only be given in the coming days. The cause of the fire was still unclear.
