Representative Helio Lopes (PL-RJ) sent this Friday (8) a letter to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) calling for striker Neymar Jr. to be called up for the 2026 World Cup.

According to the document, few athletes of the current generation represent the feeling of the World Cup like Santos’ number 10. “Neymar is not just a player“, the text continues before saying that the striker is the Brazilian team’s top scorer.

It also reinforces that Neymar is one of the best-known Brazilian athletes in the world and is “talent symbol, creativity, overcoming and hope for millions of fans”.

The deputy reports that received several demonstrations of Brazilians defending the player’s presence in Carlo Ancelotti’s final call-up, which will take place on the 18th.

Helio also states that the letter has no intention of interfere with the autonomy of the CBF, but it is just a “legitimate manifestation of millions of Brazilians who are passionate about football and the history of our national team”.
