The third-class road between the villages of Liptovská Teplička and Vikartovce in the Poprad district will be closed from Monday, May 11. The reason is the restoration of the road surface on road number III/3074. The municipality of Liptovská Teplička informed about this on the website, stating that the restriction will last from 8:00 a.m. until further notice.
The spokeswoman of the Prešov self-governing region Daša Jeleňová confirmed for TASR earlier that they have to restore an approximately four-kilometer section. The road is characterized by the poor construction and technical condition of the road, which drivers have been pointing out for a long time. The repair was supposed to start last fall, but due to bad weather conditions, the work did not start.
“Specifically, the reconstruction will go through a section that leads through the forest and rocky cliffs and is characterized by serpentines, climbs and a narrow width with a subsoil that does not allow for its further expansion,” Jeleňová zoomed in. At the same time, the region wants to restore the intersection at the entrance to Liptovská Teplička, which also connects the roads to Vikartovce and Šuňava. “He also plans to repair a three-kilometer section of the road behind Liptovská Teplička in the direction of Šuňava,” the spokeswoman added.
