Vienna – The announcement of the major squads for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico was eagerly awaited on Monday. By May 11, each participating nation had to submit a preliminary list of 35 to 55 players (including five goalkeepers) to be selected for the final squad. The ÖFB named 53 players, but the names were not publicly announced.
