Sergio Ramos reaches agreement to buy Sevilla – 05/12/2026 – Sport

Sergio Ramos is about to buy Sevilla, the club where he came into football. The former Spanish national team defender and investment group Five Eleven Capital have reached an agreement with the club’s main shareholders, Spanish media reported on Tuesday.

Spanish newspaper El País reported that the deal worth around 400 million euros (around R$2.3 billion) covers 80% of the club’s total shares at an estimated value of 3,500 euros (just over R$20,000) per share.

The transaction requires approval from LaLiga, organizer of the Spanish Championship, and Spain’s Superior Sports Council before it can be completed.

Sevilla has been present in LaLiga since the 2001/02 season. The Andalusian club, however, is fighting relegation this season after a poor campaign.

Winner of the Europa League in 2022/23, they are in 13th place in the Spanish league table, just three points above the relegation zone, with three games remaining. Last season, they finished 17th, one point above the relegation zone.

Ramos, who won the World Cup with Spain and two European Championships, began his career in Sevilla’s youth ranks before moving to Real Madrid in 2005 and helping the club win 22 major titles.

The 40-year-old returned to Sevilla in 2023 for one season. His last club was Monterrey, from Mexico. He left at the end of 2025, without announcing his retirement.
