Minister Bruno Dantas must leave the (Federal Audit Court) and accept a position in the private sector. His vacancy on the court is one of the appointments made by the Federal.
The timing of the departure of the minister, who previously presided over the TCU, has not yet been agreed, but people familiar with the conversations say that the decision should take at least 30 days. He negotiates with Avibrás, an aerospace technology company that entered judicial recovery in 2022.
In recent days, Dantas had a conversation alone with the president of the Senate, (-AP). The senator’s allies claim that the minister said that he was considering the idea of leaving the court and that he should be prepared for a possible nomination.
Senators who follow Dantas’ movement say that there is no name capable of facing the former president of the House (PSB-MG). Three Senate leaders say that today the decision is more up to the senator from Minas Gerais than to his colleagues.

Dantas is 48 years old and, in theory, has been in office for another 27 years. He was president of the TCU between 2022 and 2025 and has been a member of the court of accounts since 2014, having been appointed by the Senate, where he worked as a legislative consultant from 2003 to 2014.
Despite Pacheco’s favoritism, parliamentarians admit that there will be a place for the vacancy. At the moment, . Only two women are among the 103 ministers who have passed through the court since its creation in 1893: Ana Arraes and Helvia Castello Branco.
Other names cited for Dantas’ place are senators professor Dorinha Seabra (União Brasil-TO) and Daniella Ribeiro (PP-PB), in addition to senator Weverton Rocha (PDT-MA).
The last one appointed to the TCU, in April, in the vacancy allocated to the Chamber — completing the court’s 12 seats, including full and alternate ministers.
