EU court allows Meta and Co to prescribe compensation for the use of media content

EU states may require social media and tech platforms to pay publishers “appropriate remuneration” for the use of media content. Such obligations would protect publishers and create an “appropriate balance” between entrepreneurial freedom, intellectual property protection and media freedom and diversity.
