Felipe Anderson, from Palmeiras, celebrates his goal in the return match between Jacuipense (BA) and Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil

Palmeiras visited the Estádio do Café, in Londrina, on Wednesday night (13). The team advanced to the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil with a 4-1 victory over Jacuipense. In the first game, the São Paulo team had already won 3-0. The confrontation in the next phase will be defined by draw.

Abel Ferreira sent a reserve team onto the field and gave opportunities to the boys, also during the game, after building the scoreboard. In addition to Benedetti, Luighi and Erick Belé, who started, Luis Pacheco, Riquelme Fillipi and Larson entered.

As expected, there were no difficulties. Jacuipense, already aware that they would not reverse the score from the first game, set up a fightback. However, it did not count on a well-oiled Palmeiras reserve team, highlighted by Felipe Anderson’s inspired night. The number 7 scored the second goal and assisted the first and third.

Palmeiras did not give up possession and control of the game. From the beginning, the team had chances to score. The first opportunity came less than five minutes in, with a cross from Maurício, who narrowly missed finding Luighi in the small area.

O Jacuipense set up a boom, but the barrier was easily pierced. Erick Belé lined up and dribbled past goalkeeper Marcelo, but let the ball slip away. Afterwards, Felipe Anderson made a beautiful move on the right and missed Luighi, who hit the post.

It was up to Palmeiras, then, to have patience to seek infiltrations. And it worked. Felipe Anderson, falling down the left, once again drew attention with an individual move and found Maurício, who opened the scoring.

The goal seemed to show the way, because, two minutes later, Palmeiras already scored the second. This time, the team found Jacuipense’s defense in disarray. Felipe Anderson received a free kick on the left and crossed the ball to expand.

The clock was already showing 30 minutes when Marcelo Lomba participated in the game for the first time. It was not, however, an attack by Jacuipense. The Palmeiras defense, even without being pressured, passed the ball back to the goalkeeper.

Palmeiras slowed down, but still retained possession of the ball. When it accelerated, Erick Belé again used dribbling, played with Felipe Anderson and, with a touch of his nose, took it from Marcelo to score the third.

The second half started as if the break hadn’t happened. After just five minutes, Luighi invaded the area, was brought down and suffered a penalty. He himself caught the ball and asked to take the ball, scoring the fourth goal.

In the 42nd minute of the second half, Jacuipense managed to find Palmeiras with an open defense. The team achieved the first shot towards the goal (and second in the game), with Vicente. Marcelo Lomba accepted the goal of honor for the Bahians.

Palmeiras returns to the field on Saturdaywhen they host Cruzeiro for the 16th round of the Brazilian Championship. With 34 points, the team is four ahead of Flamengo, in second place.
