November 2026 will be the date of the first edition of the Asian Eurovision Song Contest. Israel cannot participate.
Israel entered, Australia entered. And, in 2026, the Eurovision It even starts to have an edition that is not in Europe. It will be in Asia.
The website already exists, it’s called; and there is already a date since the end of March: November 14, 2026.
The stage for the first edition will be the Thailand, more specifically Bangkok. Meanwhile, news was emerging during Eurovision week in Europe.
The European Broadcasting Union announced that national broadcasters competing in the European Eurovision cannot compete in Eurovision Asia. In other words, Israel (Asian country) is out. Or at least public television station IPBC is out.
Reminds you that Eurovision Asia was already announced in 2016. Then it was cancelled. It will come to fruition a decade later.
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam were countries already announced as participants.
This Eurovision Asia is another international contest that joins the list that also includes the return of , in Russia, which returned in September last year, by decree of Vladimir Putin – who spoke at the beginning of , through a video message. It was Vietnam that won. Russia participated but was not included in the vote, at the request of the singer (Shaman) himself.
