This Thursday, May 14th, another ‘Casa Feliz’ aired, a SIC program led by Diana Chaves and João Baião.
As Cob Day is celebrated today, the two presenters welcomed Rancho do Cabeço de Montachique to the studio and then spoke with Liliana and Gertrudes, who taught how to make the traditional cob branch.
At one point, the guest also decided to explain a ritual that is performed, which consists of keeping a bag containing the cob, a ball of bread and even a coin for a year.
João Baião then decided to question Gertrudes: “I never put coins, my mother always put the bread next to the sprig of cob, but she never put coins”he explained. “Why? Were you afraid of running out of the coin? Ah, then put the coin in there, okay?”replied the guest.
The presenter then asked if the guest had a coin and received a new answer: “No, you have to put in yours, which is money for you, not for me”. “No, no, I’m not going to put mine in. I don’t put mine anywhere, look now”retorted João Baião, laughing.
