After presenting a contradictory version to that of senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Flávio Bolsonaro about banker Daniel Vorcaro’s financing of the film Dark Horse, federal deputy Mario Frias, producer of the feature film, published a new note on the topic. According to him, the divergence was “a difference in interpretation regarding the formal origin of the investment”.
“When I previously stated that there is “not a penny from Master” in the film, I was referring to the fact that Daniel Vorcaro is not and has never been a signatory to a legal relationship, just as Banco Master never appeared as an investing company. Our legal relationship was signed with Entre, a separate legal entity”, wrote Frias.
The parliamentarian then states that “Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro have no partnership in the film or in the production company or any other structure linked to the film”. He further adds that Dark Horse only relies on private capital and no public resources.
On social media, Frias published another text on Thursday night. In this note, he states that the feature film’s investors were afraid of being “persecuted”.
“Trying to attribute any type of crime to the acquisition of private sponsorship in 2024 is just another crude narrative that was born within the right itself that tries to sabotage Flávio’s candidacy, taken advantage of by the unscrupulous left”, wrote the parliamentarian.
According to GLOBO columnist Malu Gaspar, the former owner of Banco Master transferred R$62 million to production. After the repercussion of the case this Wednesday, senator Flávio Bolsonaro spoke out in public through a note and a video. He defended himself and said that Vorcaro “had a contract” to finance Dark Horse.

— I met Daniel Vorcaro in December 2024. There were absolutely no accusations against him. What happens is that, over time, he simply stopped honoring the contract installments. Yes, there was a contract, that by not paying the installments, there was a great chance that the film would not even be broadcast, or even be completed. Because of this, we looked for other investors to complete this film — said Flávio.
Yesterday, however, Mário Frias even published a note on Instagram and stated that “there is not a single cent of Mr. Daniel Vorcaro in Dark Horse”. He also added that Flávio Bolsonaro has no connection with the production of the film.
“And, even if there were, there would be no problem: it is a strictly private relationship, between capable adults, without a single real of public money involved,” said the deputy, in a statement released on social media.
