The senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, stated this Friday (15) that he spoke with his father, (PL), about his case, revealed by the website The Intercept Brasil, and that the former president told him to stay calm and tell the truth.
Flávio stated that the owner and Bolsonaro never met, although there was an attempt to take the former president to the former banker’s mansion to watch a documentary. The presidential candidate also criticized his rival on the right, the former governor (Novo), whom he called rash for saying that the .
The pre-candidate said he was with Bolsonaro on Wednesday afternoon (13), shortly after conversations and audios came to light in which he demanded from Vorcaro the remaining contributions to finance the film “Dark Horse”, in honor of the former president. The senator’s last message to the former banker was dated November 16, the day before Vorcaro’s arrest.
“I explained [ a Bolsonaro] that the press had reported the case and that there was absolutely nothing wrong. He told me to stay calm, stay strong and tell the truth, which is what I’m doing. I insist that I did nothing wrong; this is a private investment in a film with expected returns”, Flávio told journalists at the airport in Brasília, before boarding for an event in Rio.
Flávio also said that the total cost of “Dark Horse” (underdog in English) was US$16 million (around R$80 million at current prices), but he was unable to detail the path of the money between the companies linked to Vorcaro and the film’s producer, passing through a fund in the USA managed by the former deputy’s lawyer (PL).
The senator again denied that part of the money was used to cover his brother’s expenses, he suspects, and said that Eduardo survives on a donation made by his father and his own reserves.
Flávio said that Zema was “hasty” and that he tried to call his opponent to talk. He also thanked presidential candidate Ronaldo Caiado (PSD), who minimized the episode.
“He [Zema] He is new to politics and needs to understand that he has a great responsibility to help Brazilians get rid of the PT. I deserved at least the benefit of the doubt from him after my clarifications. He was wrong to anticipate and pre-condemn me, I would never do that to him”, he declared.
“The last installment he paid was in May 2025, when the case was not in evidence like it is today.
There was no operation against him. I just demanded that the contract be fulfilled. It’s difficult to find investors for a film like this and I didn’t want production to be interrupted,” he said.
“My relationship with him was strictly professional to deal with the fund. When problems with him arose, the relationship was terminated and I looked for other investors to finish the film”, he added.
