Hugo Motta defends the end of the 6×1 scale and speaks in a convergence text on the topic

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), defended this Sunday, the 17th, the approval of the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that ends the scale of six days of work for one day of rest, at 6×1. After participating in a race for the 200th anniversary of the House, the parliamentarian said that the idea is to build a “convergence text” on the topic, which opposes the government and the opposition.

“We are going to sit down to try to create a convergence text”, said Motta. “This matter does not belong to the opposition or the government, it belongs to the country. If we can show a demonstration of unity around this issue, it is another demonstration that the Chamber will give of being linked to what the Brazilian population expects from us.”

According to the President of the House, the idea is that the text will be voted on in May – that is, this week. A special committee of the House debates two PECs on the topic. The private sector has advocated that there be a transition period for the end of the 6×1 scale, and the opposition has already presented amendments to try to create this period or maintain the 44-hour work week in some cases.
