Washington and Tehran announced a cease-fire last month, but have not reached a permanent peace deal.
US President Donald Trump on Sunday on his social network Truth called on Iran to conclude a peace agreement with the United States or face destruction. He made this statement shortly after a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The AFP agency drew attention to it, reports TASR.
“Iran is running out of time and they better hurry, and FAST, or there will be nothing left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENTIAL!,” the US president wrote.
The Israeli prime minister’s office confirmed to the Times of Israel portal that Trump and Netanyahu spoke on the phone in the evening.
Five key conditions
According to Hebrew media reports, the leaders discussed a possible resumption of war with Iran, as well as Trump’s recent visit to China.
Talks between the US and Tehran are being brokered by Pakistan, but have been on hold since Iran and the US rejected each other’s proposals.
The United States set five key conditions for reaching an agreement to end the war with Tehran, but according to Iranian media, Washington did not make any concessions to Tehran.
