In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Neymar showed behind the scenes of his call-up for the World Cup this Monday (18). The striker celebrates with friends, hugs the physiotherapist and chats via video with teammate Raphinha, a Barcelona player.
The edition begins with preparation for the game against Coritiba, played on Sunday morning (17), in São Paulo. The video shows the player crying during the playing of the national anthem, shows the best moves, the controversy surrounding his replacement, but does not inform about Santos’ 3-0 defeat.
Next, the video moves to the day of the convocation. Friends and family watch the CBF event, held in Rio de Janeiro, on TV and with the player. Among those present at Neymar’s house are Santos colleague Gabriel Barbosa, volleyball player Bruninho and singer Thiaguinho.
Before the list was released, Neymar even expressed fear of not being called up. “I have a thesis here that if he hadn’t called me by now…I think he would. I’m even scared of looking at the phone”, he says.
With the confirmation of the call-up, Neymar, alongside his wife Bruna Biancardi, cries. One of the first people he interacts with is the physiotherapist identified only as Raphael, with whom he cries while hugging.
Afterwards, he speaks on the phone with the player Raphinha. “We’re going to fucking win this.” Neymar also speaks to his mother, who was at the event, and to his father, remotely.
The 15-minute video ends with a message aimed at the viewer. “A day of immense happiness. I achieved my goal, which was to return to the national team, to be in the World Cup. Now it’s time to support the team.”
