PSOL-Rede sees support from allies for Marina for the Senate – 05/19/2026 – Panel

The federation formed by PSOL and Rede concluded a first round of consultations with other left-wing parties to seek consensus around the name of the former Minister of the Environment to run for the Senate in São Paulo.

Led by the national president of the federation, Juliano Medeiros, the negotiations take place at a time when the other place on the ticket should go to former minister Simone Tebet, also from PSB.

In addition to PSOL and Rede, conversations with PCdoB and PV were not conclusive, but the former minister’s allies left with the impression that there is sympathy for her name.

The PT, whose position will be decisive in choosing the candidate, has for now remained neutral among its allies.

The most important conversation, however, should only happen in the next few days, with the PSB itself.

The main argument presented by Marina’s defenders is that there needs to be balance on the ticket, which would not occur with two PSB candidates for the Senate.
