The event had requests for votes from Lula and PT deputies in the speeches that preceded the president.

One of the guest speakers, Leandro Cruz, president of the Federation of App Drivers Unions, said that the year was “decisive”, referring to the elections. “We have to know in an election year who to vote for. Choose deputies who defend the working class, choose a president on the workers’ side.”

Júnior Freitas, from the Movement of Workers Without Rights, which represents delivery app motorcycle couriers, was more direct. When talking about the government’s measures, he said that he will continue the military “to elect a governor, a left-wing president.” “We’re going to fight to elect Lula. It’s Lula 2026, Lula 2030 and we’re leaving,” he said.

Lula spoke in the party room of Casa de Portugal, a Portuguese-Brazilian association in Liberdade, downtown São Paulo, at an event to announce the Move Brasil Táxi e Abertos program – a subsidized credit line for the purchase of cars worth up to R$150,000, powered by sustainable fuels (flex, electric, hybrid or ethanol), aimed at taxi drivers and app drivers.

The announcement is part of a package of actions that the PT government has used in recent weeks to regain its popularity, drawn up even before the release of audios and messages between the senator (-RJ) and , from . The senator denies irregularities.

The package includes debt renegotiation, subsidized gas cylinders, reinforcement of Minha Casa, Minha Vida and credit for truck drivers, in a volume of resources that exceeds R$173 billion in this election year.

Seeking to reduce his rejection, Lula also launched a new subsidy to contain fuel prices and revoked the “blouse tax”, a tax on imports of small online purchases implemented amid negative reactions from part of the electorate, in addition to meeting, last week, with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

The government has also intensified advertising actions to publicize the proposal to reduce the 6×1 work schedule, the president’s flagship.
