In the published excerpt, Frias states that he wanted to thank and inform the then banker about the progress of production. “Just thank you, my brother. We’re going to touch the hearts of a lot of people and it’s going to be very important for our country, okay? I need to tell you from time to time how things are going, okay?”, says the deputy.
The message would have been sent on December 11, 2024. According to Intercept, the audio was recorded shortly after the time when a meeting between Flávio and Vorcaro was scheduled, which has not been confirmed.
Vorcaro responds via WhatsApp that he would return shortly. “I’m on a call and I’ll call you later”, he wrote, and Frias replied: “Blz”. According to the website, the two spoke online for about two minutes that day.
Mario Frias would have looked for Vorcaro again on December 15, 2024. According to the report, the deputy sent a screenshot showing an exchange of messages between him and director Cyrus Nowrasteh. Frias is executive producer of the film Dark Horse. After the release of the audios between Vorcaro and Flávio, he said that the banker had not given “a single cent” for the production of the film. The following day, he retreated and said that there was “a difference of interpretation regarding the formal origin” of the investment.
“When I previously stated that there is not ‘a penny from Master’ in the film, I was referring to the fact that Daniel Vorcaro is not and has never been a signatory to a legal relationship, nor has he ever been an investor company,” he said.
