Film with Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal disappoints at the box office

The film “In the Gray Zone”, which stars Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal as a pair of agents, had a poor performance at debut. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the production was launched last Thursday (14) and has had low revenue.

In the plot, it is Sid and Bronco, who together with lawyer Rachel Wild () to recover R$5 billion from a crime boss, who took refuge on a heavily protected private island. The film also features a finance tycoon.

According to the website Box Office Mojo, which publishes box office figures for films currently showing, “In the Gray Zone” grossed almost US$3 million dollarsequivalent to around R$14 million a week after its debut in the United States.

Filmed in 2023, “” stayed in the drawer for a while and needed to be re-edited. The filming locations were Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands, the largest of the Canary Islands, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Locations have tax incentives for film productions. In the international press, the production of filmmaker Ritchie (“Snatch – Pigs and Diamonds” and “Crime Tycoons”) has been receiving reviews.

The American magazine Variety said that the film is shallow, not very innovative, generic and with artificial characters. On the website Deadline, which specializes in cinema, the plot was described as a war of disappointment.
