According to the executive, the entry of new channels does not eliminate the relevance of traditional channels and must occur within clear regulatory limits. “We don’t see that one channel overlaps the other,” he said.

Rossato compared the novelty to the advancement of pharmaceutical e-commerce, which gained strength after the pandemic and now accounts for a relevant share of some chains’ sales, reaching more than 20% of revenue — even in a segment that operates under strict marketing rules.

The executive recalled that around 80% of Medley’s portfolio is made up of prescription medicines, which cannot be disclosed directly to consumers and will remain behind the pharmacy counter.

“We follow this discussion as an industry to be prepared, whatever the final resolution, but the limits of what to do and what not to do are very clear. A medicine is a medicine and needs to be used in accordance with the leaflet”, he stated.
