A routine police stop turned into an unusual situation when Kathleen Thomas, a driver with an amputated hand, was accused of driving with her cell phone in her hand. The woman, however, had a surprise for the agents: she showed them her amputated hand, proving that it was impossible to have used her cell phone in the way she was accused.
Kathleen Thomas was issued a citation in February after a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy pulled her over for allegedly using a phone with her right hand. But Thomas doesn’t have a right hand. This week, the officer requested that the citation be dismissed.

Despite the obvious evidence, the police insisted and ended up fining Kathleen. However, the driver did not give up and decided to contest the fine. In the end, the court ruled in his favor, annulling the fine due to “lack of evidence”.
