At the invitation of Ancelotti, Felipão gives a talk to athletes – 05/28/2026 – Sport

The last world champion coach for the Brazilian team, Luiz Felipe Scolari was at Granja Comary this Thursday (28) to talk to the squad led by Carlo Ancelotti.

Felipão’s presence was at the invitation of the Italian, with whom he maintains a friendly relationship. Currently Grêmio’s technical coordinator, the former coach has also started giving motivational talks in recent years, in which he discusses the ups and downs of his career, from winning the 2002 World Cup to the embarrassment at the 2014 World Cup, marked by the 7-1 defeat to Germany.

In the conversation with the athletes, in addition to expressing support for the team, Scolari asked the group to unite in the search for the country’s sixth world title.

“How good it is to be world champion, and you have all this possibility. It’s difficult, close yourself off. You were chosen and you are part of an elite. And this elite has to know: ‘I play for others, I do for others'”, Felipão told the players.

The words were followed closely by Ancelotti. The Italian had been welcomed by Felipão a year ago, when he was introduced as coach of the Brazilian team. On that occasion, the Brazilian gave his colleague a national team shirt with Ancelotti’s name on it.

The two have a long-standing relationship and have crossed paths in European football. In 2009, when the Gaucho left command of Chelsea, he was succeeded by the Italian.

Before leaving Granja Comary, Felipão was honored by the CBF with a commemorative plaque in recognition of the main titles of his career.
