The United States Department of State announced, this Thursday (May 28, 2026), that it will classify the PCC (First Capital Command) and the CV (Red Command) as terrorist organizations. The two factions will receive the designations of “Specially Designated Global Terrorists” e “foreign terrorist organizationsThe classification comes into effect on June 5th.
The North American government justified the decision by stating that CV and PCC are between “the most violent criminal organizations in Brazil”. According to the State Department, the factions “command thousands of members” and carry out “brutal attacks” against police officers, public authorities and civilians.
The official statement highlighted that the activities of these organizations go beyond Brazilian territory. Operations reach other countries in South America and the United States.
